To answer the need for quality training in anesthesia emergency management that's conveniently accessible, the complete suite of five Anesthesia SimSTAT virtual learning modules is now available to the public through a cooperative agreement between the American Society of Anesthesiologists™ (ASA) and CAE Healthcare.
CAE Healthcare and the ASA announced a collaboration in 2016 to propel simulation-based education forward with a new learning platform.
The result was Anesthesia SimSTAT, a dynamic and virtual gamified healthcare learning environment that integrates CAE Healthcare’s modeled patient physiology and pharmacology into each virtual patient.
Anesthesia Sim STAT provides physician anesthesiologists with advanced training in the management of challenging emergencies; permits self-paced training in anesthesiology procedures, and allows learners the opportunity to obtain Maintenance of Certification for Anesthesiology credits (enabling fulfillment of ABA MOCA 2.0® Part 2 and 4 requirements) -- at any time and from anywhere.
In November 2019, the final two of five learning modules (for PACU and Labor & Delivery) were released. From dynamic 3-D graphics, to realistic audio and electronic medical records, Anesthesia SimSTAT offers everything needed for learners to acquire proficiency in anesthesia procedures and anesthesia-related emergency management.
With interactive and dynamic performance feedback, the complete suite of Anesthesia SimSTAT presents five screen-based scenarios that are based on true patient encounters. The modules feature 3D graphics, avatars, and objective assessment functions.
