Meet the SMART Manikin: Lifesaving Training Revolutionized

Self-directed certification for lifesaving education is easier than ever with the SMART Manikin. Available in adult and infant versions, the SMART Manikin offers a simple solution to complete skills assessments for several courses, including basic life support (BLS). By blending reading and lecture with hands-on experience, the American Red Cross BLS training allows you to learn new techniques and sharpen your skills so you can deliver care to those in need and help improve patient outcomes.

    • Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED: Learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults children and babies.
    • Adult First Aid/CPR/AED: Equip your learners with the knowledge necessary to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults.
    • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED: Gain the knowledge necessary to recognize and care for a variety of breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults.
    • Adult CPR/AED: This online-only course covers first aid emergencies such as choking bleeding overdose shock and teaches CPR/AED for children and babies.
    • Advanced Life Support: The Advanced Life Support (ALS) course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, recognize and care for adult patients experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. The ALS course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the ALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course including the ALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before moving on to the skills session.
    • The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, recognize and care for children and infants experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. The PALS course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the PALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course including the PALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before moving on to the skills session.

    The SMART Manikin delivers First Aid/CPR/AED and BLS certifications with three easy steps:

    Successfully complete the online portion of the didactic training.

    Use the SMART Manikin to perform skill practice and pass the skills assessment evaluation.

    Electronically receive a certificate valid for two years.
