Redefining Healthcare Simulation in 2024

Jeff Evans, President - CAE Healthcare

Jan 02, 2024

2023 was a transformative year for CAE Healthcare that was filled with advancements and visionary strides. Amidst the backdrop of the largest International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare, I had the privilege of being appointed president. This past year, we partnered with many simulation centers around the world to offer comprehensive simulation solutions, including the recently opened healthcare simulation center at Louisiana Delta Community College. Our Vimedix simulator increased our ultrasound offerings, with an emphasis on women’s health. Additionally, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, we introduced basic lifesaving education through the SMART manikin. Throughout the year we kept both educators and learners in mind with physiology enhancements and more digital offerings.

Of course, the biggest news of 2023 was the sale of our business to Madison Industries. This is an exciting new chapter for our team of simulation specialists, opening up more doors to bring you the best in healthcare simulation.

We are looking at the future of healthcare simulation and innovative education, all designed with you in mind. You can expect a seamless transition, a renewed focus on patient safety and the same support for your existing CAE products so you can continue leveraging our suite of solutions to teach clinical competencies. Our unwavering commitment is inspired by current pressing healthcare challenges. We’ve heard from you about the severe shortage of medical professionals, which demands innovative solutions to train more efficiently and effectively, and the imperative need to reduce medical errors and unnecessary deaths, that highlights the critical demand for precise, true-to-life healthcare simulation.

Together, we will look to the future and design the next generation of educational needs, focusing on adaptable, diverse, cost-effective patient care experiences through simulation.

How will we measure this transformative ecosystem of solutions? Data. This helps us determine training priorities, ensure competencies and tailors our education approach. With our solutions, educators can measure the effectiveness of simulation, adapt curricula, and ensure that learners are equipped for the challenges of modern healthcare.

Stay tuned for exciting updates on our business, products and services that will elevate your educational ecosystem. I look forward to discussing the future with all of you at IMSH this month. Stop by booth 200 to take the journey with us.
