Tips & Tricks: Simulating Mechanical Ventilation Using Müse

If your simulator cannot be placed on mechanical ventilation, you can simulate this by using your Müse software. Here's how.

  1. After the manikin is intubated, simply set the Respiratory Rate, Tidal Volume, FiO2 and PEEP to the desired values in the software.
  2. If you have a ventilator you can connect it to the ET tube without turning it on.
  3. If you don’t have a ventilator, you can tape a picture of one to a box or IV pole. Don’t forget to close the simulators eyes, if desired.

More Tips & Tricks section may be found in our Resources section on The Resources section of the website will also give you access to important and helpful documentation and video tutorials for your simulators.
