Tips & Tricks: Simulating Mechanical Ventilation Using Müse

If your simulator cannot be placed on mechanical ventilation, you can simulate this by using your Müse software. Here's how.

  1. After the manikin is intubated, simply set the Respiratory Rate, Tidal Volume, FiO2 and PEEP to the desired values in the software.

  2. If you have a ventilator you can connect it to the ET tube without turning it on.

  3. If you don’t have a ventilator, you can tape a picture of one to a box or IV pole. Don’t forget to close the simulators eyes, if desired.
